The first tooth typically erupts around six months of age.
Ideally, we like to see our pediatric patients within the first year of age. This is for multiple reasons: One, we are able to examine the eruption of teeth (timing and position) and the oral tissues (noting any unusual bumps or lesions); Two, we are able to get our young patients to accustom to the dental office and dental chair, making further appointments go much more smoothly.
Our initial exam is a simple lap exam where the child is placed on the caregiver's lap while Dr. Richards evaluates. We offer Nitrous Oxide for our pediatric patients that are hesitant towards the dental office. We provide dental work on our pediatric patients that include; Fillings, Stainless Steel Crowns, Extractions, Pulp tissue therapy, cleanings, etc.
We understand that the dental office can be a scary place at first. We do our absolute best to make all patients, especially our young ones, feel comfortable and important in our office.
